About Emily
Emily Forsythe is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and women's health care provider at Yorktown Health, a multispecialty practice dedicated to compassionate, holistic, individualized care for women in Lombard, Illinois. As a midwife and nurse practitioner, Emily brings a whole-person, patient-centered approach to every visit, supporting women through every stage of life.
She is a recent Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduate with comprehensive clinical experience in midwifery care, obstetric care, and gynecologic care. Emily earned her DNP through the dual Nurse-Midwifery/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program at Georgetown University, and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University.
Emily holds dual certifications as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC), reflecting her broad expertise in integrative women's health, prenatal care, natural birth support, and holistic gynecologic care. Her doctoral education included specialized study on perinatal mental health and depression in pregnancy, deepening her commitment to care that honors both physical and emotional well-being, a cornerstone of the midwifery model of care.
Emily's midwifery philosophy centers on empowering women through evidence-based, relationship-centered care. Whether providing well-woman exams, managing prenatal and postpartum care, or supporting patients through menopause and reproductive health decisions, Emily partners with her patients to develop individualized care plans that reflect their values, goals, and overall wellness.
Outside of her professional work, Emily enjoys reading and spending time with her dog.
